Cuchara is Houston's perfect after shopping lunch spot
It's no secret that I'm a big brunch girl, but this weekend was not made for brunch. My schedule was just a little busier than usual especially Saturday morning. My friends, Vanessa and Kaliyah, and my youngest sister, Mhia came to my house. We planned on going shopping for my wedding dress. I know they were think "finally!" the entire trip but honestly, I was just a little worried. I've been putting off looking for a dress because I'm nervous about commiting to a special dress. That's for another blog post. Despite my misgivings, the trip to the bridal shop was fun. There were so many dresses but there wasn't a 'Say Yes To The Dress!' moment so I had to leave them behind.
We decided to grab a light lunch while I mulled over my options and dress pics. We ended up picking this cute, out of the way little cafe, Cuchara. When we entered the restaurant, I almost died over the design alone. The space is beautiful! I was this close to being That Girl and pulling out my phone and taking photos of everything, but I decided to chill. The head bartender, Amado, came over and introduced himself before walking us to our table. We sat outside and he recommended his faves from the menu. His recommendations were perfection. Everything we ordered was amazing. Plus, he threw in hibiscus watermelon margarita for us! Yes, you read that correctly! hibiscus and watermelon! It was heaven in a glass and I'd gladly drink a gallon or two.
If you're ever at Cuchara, we suggest you try the Flautas de Res, Tostaditas de Tinga de pollo, Gorditas de chicharron prensado and Quesadillas de huitlacoche. And the margaritas. After lunch, we did have a mini photoshoot on the back patio. I couldn't help myself! I had to have pics! Just look at that wall? Who wouldn't want to take photos with it?
*This is not a sponsored post. I just really like to eat and wanted to share this place with you. If you're in Houston, go immediately! You won't regret it.
